The Role
Over the past few years, we’ve found that nonprofits come to Chariot not only for our best-in-class technology, but for our thought leadership on all-things Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Because of this, we have focused our Marketing efforts to date on “owning the DAF category” among key philanthropic stakeholders, from donors to nonprofits to DAFs themselves. But we’re just getting started, and there is massive potential to catalyze our Marketing engine and grow our reach by 10x over the next 2 years. That’s where this role comes in: Chariot is seeking its first specialized Marketing Lead to spearhead growth and heighten our brand notoriety as the fintech company for the philanthropic ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead growth and marketing initiatives end-to-end, covering inception and planning, execution, analytics and iteration.
- Design & generate high-quality written and visual assets across channels (e.g., website, social media, in-person events, etc.) that lead to increased engagement and grow Chariot’s audience.
- Partner closely with our Head of Strategy, Mitch Stein, to leverage the many valuable assets we already have internally (e.g.,knowledge, data, industry presence, relationships) and turn them into tactical materials we can use for Marketing.
- More specific opportunities in the role include:
- Writing case studies, customer spotlights and industry analysis for our website.
- Planning & executing regular educational webinars with industry experts that include written summaries, email follow-ups and minimal video editing.
- Leading ideation, project management and execution for industry-wide annual campaigns, like DAF Day.
- Planning educational sessions and presentations for conferences and nonprofit staff trainings (i.e., topic-setting, identifying speakers, creating slides, executing follow-ups and day-of planning).
- Optimizing website content for search discoverability on key topics and terms.
- Generating templates, one-pagers and other downloadable assets for a mass audience.
- Plugging these various pieces into a robust email communication (via Hubspot) & social media schedule.
- Engaging other industry blogs, podcasts, & media outlets for partnership opportunities.
- Building systems to effectively track and convert Marketing Qualified Leads into Sales Qualified Leads. Leveraging analytics, tools, email sequencing, etc. to usher leads through a seamless customer journey.
About You
You love everything about Marketing, from high-level strategy-setting to content design & creation. You’re able to grasp the nuances of our subject matter (DAFs & Nonprofits) and business model quickly, and take them into consideration for all of our Marketing efforts. You’re excited by a big growth opportunity - building a robust marketing function from the ground up - and are eager to take ownership quickly. More specifically, you pride yourself on:
- High Standards - You work hard, you have a strong drive to grow and hold yourself to a very high bar for quality. Attention to detail is everything.
- Innovation - You are able to spot opportunities for improvement - technology, process and approach. You don’t take anything as “the way we’ve always done it”, you proactively question things and offer new solutions.
- Listening - You listen deeply to customer wants and needs, gearing all of our content towards the biggest gaps and interest areas.
- Communication - Your writing is clear, concise, purposeful and compelling. All written, verbal and design assets have an objective, are well organized and drive the audience toward action.
- Humility - You’re not “too good” to do anything that needs to get done. You’re constantly trying to learn, get better and grow.
- Organization - You can keep a variety of projects and workflows organized and on schedule without things slipping through the cracks.
What you’ll get from Chariot
At Chariot, we are building modern, end-to-end payment infrastructure making donors' lives easier, and nonprofits' lives better. $500B gets donated to charity each year in the US and the existing technology/infrastructure was still built for our grandparents generation. Chariot is here to change that.
