Company Overview

Of the $500 billion donated to nonprofits each year, only about $60 billion comes through traditional “online” payment rails like credit cards. The other $440B move through “offline” processes and archaic systems. Not only is this bad system risky and slow, it creates tremendous operational burden at nonprofit organizations and deters total giving.

One of the best examples of this is Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). DAFs hold $230B+ in charitable assets and are the fastest growing vehicle in philanthropy. However, millions of DAF users are stuck behind archaic login portals, emails, or even phone calls to make a donation. Even though these are savings accounts specifically designed for charity, you can’t use them to pay in any of the place you’re most likely to give (a nonprofit website, donation form, campaign page, etc.)

Chariot built the first-ever integrated DAF payment option, DAFpay, which is now live with 30,000 nonprofits, dozens of fundraising platforms and over 70% of the DAF market by volume. DAFpay’s usage is averaging double digit month over month growth for the last 18 months and isn’t slowing down. Our customers include some of the largest and most well known nonprofits in the country like American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, March of Dimes, Pan-Mass Challenge, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and PETA.
